I’m a Family Nurse Practitioner with over six years of primary care experience in community health, and a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner. I’m also a proud member of the Heather Hirsch Academy, where I deepened my expertise in prescribing hormone replacement therapy (HRT) with a patient-centered approach.
My healthcare journey began in 2004 when I became a Registered Nurse (RN) and served as an Active Duty Nurse in the U.S. Army. After completing my military commitment, I transitioned into civilian nursing, working in urgent care, primary care clinics, and emergency departments. I was always the ER nurse who took time to educate patients—truly passionate about helping them live healthier, more preventative lives. That desire ultimately inspired me to further my education and become a Nurse Practitioner.
After 15 years as an RN, I graduated from Simmons University as a Family Nurse Practitioner and began my new journey in primary care in 2019, where I’ve continued to serve patients in a community health setting.
My passion for menopause care began during my own transition—I entered late perimenopause in 2020 and reached menopause in 2023 at age 44. Looking back, I realized I didn’t receive the support I needed to manage my symptoms and overall health, despite being a clinician myself. I started experiencing hot flashes at age 31 and endured over a decade of symptoms with minimal support from the medical community. That experience solidified my mission: to educate and empower women during this often-overlooked phase of life. I had to seek out extensive education on my own, professionally, and personally, because menopause simply isn’t given enough attention in most medical training. I’m now on a good HRT regimen but can take some trial and error and essential to work with a specialist to help you along the way.
I believe every woman deserves access to a menopause specialist who will truly listen, offer evidence-based treatment options, and support care plans that align with their lifestyle and goals. Too often, women are told, “It’s natural—you’ll get through it,” but at what cost to their mental, physical, and emotional health?
I’m here not only to help you navigate the menopause transition but also to help you understand what’s happening in your body and support you with primary care needs that impact your long-term health. As a Nurse Practitioner, I focus on holistic, whole-person care, ensuring that you are centered in every healthcare decision—with my knowledge and support behind you.
Outside of my professional life, I love spending time with my animals—a rescued pitbull/lab mix and three “formerly feral” black cats. I’m actively involved in my community, helping care for and provide surgery for the local feral cat population. I also enjoy spending time in nature, weight training, and reading books across all genres.
Two phrases I live by: “Facta, non verba” (actions, not words), and “Knowledge is power.”
